I am a self-taught multimedia artist who was raised in the Okanagan Valley where I still live and work. Although I’ve been creating art since I could hold a pencil in my hand, my first experience as an artist out in the world began with live painting in restaurants in 2008. Since then, I have sold both acrylic and watercolour original paintings, as well taken on commissions for logo design, murals, advertising, tattoos and personal pieces. I have been developing my skills as an artist my whole life through dedication to personal practice, willingness to learn and apply advanced technical skills, gaining inspiration and guidance from a myriad of teachers and artist-elders, and studying the works of artists I admire. I work primarily with ink and watercolour and my paintings can be considered a mixture of post-impressionism, surrealism and realism, although I do not confine myself to these categories. Through my art, I hope to give the viewer reason to pause, to consider their connection with the human body, with nature and their own minds.

Jeannine is a Mixed Media Painter, Seamstress, Master Herbalist and Crystal Therapy Practitioner. Born in Toronto, Ontario; during a trip out to BC in her 20’s, she became enchanted by the mountains and landscape, tore up her return ticket and has lived in the semi desert region of the Okanagan since. She is inspired by the diversity and interconnectedness of the natural world, and respectfully integrates upcycled materials wherever possible. Her paintings are intended to invoke joy, light and beauty with vibrant abstract colours and are playfully & intuitively created. Jeannine is also working on a Herbal product line under Wildwoman Botanicals. Jeannine respectfully acknowledges the Syilx Okanagan Nation, whose traditional and unceded territory she lives, learns, works, and raises her family upon. As stewards of the land, she offers her deepest gratitude and respect for their strength, courage, resilience and for sharing their ways of knowing and being with her on her journey while here.
